After walking around Mylopotamos village, we decided to have lunch at Platanos today June 8 2022 and that was it!! A really really genuine Greek restaurant, which catchs your eye as you walk by!! The location is absolutely perfect. Sitting under many plane /sucamore trees ( not sure about the right english word..) which give shade, overlooking a small river where ducks were playing, and no music at all, what else?? All tables wooden in white color which makes it fresh, about 50-60 freshly painted ceramic pots with plants (really well kept), spotless yard. Service very friendly, starters came fast , huge green salad ( first time I see so much parmesana in a salad!!) and a special dip from beetroots. Then came the main dishes , my wife said it was the best moussaka she ever had, I had a cod fish cooked in lemon sauce, really good. Greek coffees properly made and two small ice creams free on the house. If I could give 100 stars I would easily, we will return for our anniversary. NOT...
Read moreWe visited the place yesterday at 14:00. The waiters were clearly prioritizing big groups and since we are a family of 3, we had to wait until 14:45. Finally, after having waved many times to different waiters a waitress came to take our order. We wanted to order ice cream, 3 pieces of cake from the vitrine and drinks. All sweets were also listed on the menue. The waitress told us that they don't serve sweets after 14:00. We were baffled to get this info only after a 45 minute wait in the midday heat. After asking permission from the owner who was standing by the counter inside, she told us again, that she was not allowed to serve us cake and icecream. Asking for the reason of this absurd rule, we were not given any reasonable answer. On top of that the owner was extremely rude and unprofessional when we complained. This cafe/restaurant acts as a good-old-times traditional place, but unfortunately they are just profit oriented and...
Read moreFantastic restaurant, probably the best we have found on all island. There is a parking nearby, nice bell tower near as well, as well as few tourist stores. But the main show is the food. Really huge menu, choice for really everyone. Lunch is being served from 14.00, and we were served very quickly. Fantastic appetizers - meatballs and mushroom pie, followed by amazing lamb main dish and pork with local wine and herb sauce. Meals were very flavourful, clearly fresh and homey. Portions were massive, neither me or my husband were able to finish our appetizer and main plate, so we took the leftovers in box. We got small icecream as treat at the end - very nice. Place is full of plants and under huge trees that offer comfortable shadow. Lovely chill atmosphere, really authentic Greek place. If we didn't randomly pass by, we would have...
